The Scarf-Hat!

Movember (No Shave November)

Have you guys heard of this thing called Movember? It’s basically a fundraising campain where you grow a mustache to “raise funds and awareness for menโ€™s health, specifically prostate cancer” (us.movember.com). I think it’s awesome, but what about those who either, can’t grow a mustache, or aren’t comfortable with their facial hair growing abilities (like myself)? Well have I got a solution for you!

Many of you have seen my previous pattern for a mustache that I put up a while back, well now get ready for the new mustache of the season….

HorseShoe Mustache!

Bam!

Many famous people have sported these bad boys throughout the years, like Hulk Hogan, John Lenon, and Seth Rogen, and now, you too!!

Along with this bad boy comes these sweet sideburns that can be attached to glasses, you may have seen them on the Early November Giveaway I did a while back.

I know it may be a little late, but better then never, here’s the pattern for the Horseshoe Mustache and Sideburns!

Winner for the November Giveaway!

So Sunday was the end of the November Giveaway, and the winner is…….

Casa De La Zombies!

She was the first to guess the one answer that was the only one everyone got, which was #2, The elf hat. But heres the problem, Casa De La Zombies, if youre reading this, I don’t have any way to send you your winnings, or contact you, so if you can, comment on this, or email me at louies.loops@gmail.com so I can send you it! Haha

So here are the answers!

1.

So this is supposed to be a fox tail, the finished product is coming very soon.

2.

Like I said before, this is an elf hat with removable ears, haha. Pretty similar to the wizard hat posted a few weeks ago.

3.

This one is easily the most difficult.
Okay, so this one wasn’t really fair to be honest. :/ sorry. It’s a couple of sideburns, that can be put on glasses. You should see it later this week, along with the pattern. Again, sorry about making it confusing haha.

Thanks again to everyone who guessed, and keep checking back for more giveaways, and the hats and patterns that will be coming soon! And again, Casa De La Zombies, contact me please!

November Giveaway, just a couple days left!

So the end of the giveaway I posted a couple weeks ago is on Sunday!! So quick, get your answers in! Here are the three items again, just post in what you think they are, and you can win one of them! ๐Ÿ™‚ Here are the more in depth rules.

1.

2.

3.

This one is easily the most difficult.

So I guess they’re kinda tough, so here’s a hint, and I’ll try not to tell any tall tails, the last one involves No Shave November. Good Luck!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Halloween Costume

So Halloween was Monday and I was a Dungeon Master (my girlfriends idea). It’s a variation of the Christmas Hat, but with stars, and button on ears. Oh, and a cool beard that connects to my glasses! All of which are coming soon in either pattern or buy able form, or both!

I’m selling these wizard hats here, but not the beards just yet (still needs to be perfected)!

So here’s a few more photos and a pattern for the little stars on the hat, because, why not?

Some photos:

Here’s a photo of the final product:
Materials:
-Lion Brand Cotton/Lily Sugar’n Cream Yarn/Lion Brand Cotton-Ease Yarns (basically any 100% cotton works)
-Size US-G/4.00 mm Crochet Hook

Abbreviations:

-SL.ST = Slip Stitch
-SC = Single Crochet
-HDC = Half Double Crochet
-Ch = Chain

Pattern:
Ch 2 DON’T TURN
Rnd 1: sc 5 in 2nd ch from the hook (5) Don’t turn.
Rnd 2: sl.st in first sc, [ch 4, sl.st. in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next, hdc in next, sl.st in next sc] repeat 5 times. (to end)
cut and pull yarn through, sew in end.

Really easy and quick pattern.

By the way. I know I’m basically giving away one of the answers in the November Giveaway, but there’s also somewhat of a hint for another answer!

Lastly, these ears and hats are available for sale here, and I’ve got some great ideas for these ears so keep in touch by Facebook or email!

Halloween Cupcakes

So today we’re having family and friends over for a Halloween dinner, and for desert my mom made these neat cupcakes with witch hats on them. So I thought this would be a good time to tell you guys about a lady I met named Brenda Vanover! Brenda created the idea for the cupcakes and make really need things with candy and sweets. Seriously, she has the “eye” for all things candy and makes things that are truly impressive, but still simple to make! She runs sweetsimplestuff.com where she shares her creations! I strongly recommend you guys check her out.

So for the hats, Brenda uses York Peppermints, but the ones my mom bought were shaped like pumpkins for Halloween so they didn’t work and she had to improvise and use the cookie parts from Oreo’s. They’re made with a Hershey’s Kiss, some frosting, and a York Peppermint. You can find the instructions at Brenda’s site here.

Here’s one of the great things she uses the hats in.

Keep an eye out for this one!
