Avengers Assemble!!
Warning: Trying to access array offset on value of type null in /home1/louieslo/public_html/wp-content/themes/loops/content.php on line 35

So last weekend The Avengers hit theaters and it was awesome!! I’m used to be really big into comics when I was younger, my favorite of which were the Fantastic Four. I thought Mr. Fantastic was just the coolest super hero and his brains mixed with his abilities made him the most awesome of superheros. But alas, the movies sucked haha.

Anyhow, I saw The Avengers last weekend and it was just so good. Later, while browsing through Etsy I stumbled upon a shop called Nerdifacts. They make the coolest fingerless gloves to mimic super hero gauntlets. I thought they were pretty cool, so I made my own version of one of her pairs, Iron Mans. Not only did I make a pair for my cousin, but I decided to share the pattern for all of you guys! This way you can make yourself a pair to prepare for your next viewing of The Avengers! Download at bottom of the page or here.

Here are some photos of the final product…

This was my best “kick bad guy ass” pose, haha.

Again, the credit for the idea of these Iron Man Gauntlets goes to Nerdifacts, check out their shop here. You can see a bunch of different ideas for different versions of the fingerless gloves there too.

——————————————————————————————————————————

So here’s the pattern for download, and don’t forget, this pattern may be for Iron Man Gloves, but it includes instructions for making my version of Fingerless Mittens as-well.

Download the pattern HERE <—

Don’t forget to add this pattern to your favorites on Ravelry and Craftsy, pin-it and share it on Facebook too!!

You can enter twice by Liking “La Chaise Bleu” on Facebook, or by sharing the post regarding this post on either my Facebook Page or hers, or by doing both!

Winner will be chosen at random and receive one (1) pair of glass earrings by La Chaise Bleu of their choice. You’ll be Facebook messaged directly by Denielle herself for the info regarding the shipping information.

Crocheting to Your Heart’s Content
Warning: Trying to access array offset on value of type null in /home1/louieslo/public_html/wp-content/themes/loops/content.php on line 35

Having trouble thinking of what to get a loved one? I made this for my girlfriend for Valentines day this year. I figured, if I was going to give her anything, why not give her my heart! ๐Ÿ™‚

She liked it. ๐Ÿ™‚ Here’s a few more photo’s of my most vital organ haha.
and of course my heart would be made out of yarn. ๐Ÿ™‚
Because this was a special gift for her, I don’t plan on coming out with a pattern. Besides, I was only born with one! So this was my idea for her gift, what do you guys think? Mother’s day is coming up soon, and I’m always looking for some good ideas! Anybody have any?

Crochet the Fashionable Way
Warning: Trying to access array offset on value of type null in /home1/louieslo/public_html/wp-content/themes/loops/content.php on line 35

Finally, a new FREE pattern for you guys, and I made it into a cool, fancy PDF too!

So I was bored one day and wanted to make a bow tie, I looked all over for patterns on making one, but all I could find were patterns for pre-tied bow ties, and where’s the fun in that! So I made my own :). I thought, well since there aren’t any I could find, I might as well post one. You can buy one of these bow ties too, right here.

Here are some photos, scroll down to view and download the pattern.

Crocheted Bow Tie Pattern

——————————————————————————————————————————

*EDIT* 8/31/12

So here’s the free pattern for download via Ravelry.

Download the pattern HERE <—

Don’t forget to add this pattern to your favorites on Ravelry and Craftsy, pin-it and share it on Facebook too!!

Don’t forget, you can buy one of these bow ties too! HERE

Here’s the dealio, I want to be able to give all my patterns for free, and I would if I could, but I can’t. I can’t because it takes lots of time to make them and make sure it looks pretty, and I’m a student and don’t make a lot of money as it is, so here’s my idea, if you like this pattern please hit the button to the top right to donate a little something; you don’t have to (obviously) but it would mean a lot to me and show me that people do want more patterns.

ANFSCD Ep. 1
Warning: Trying to access array offset on value of type null in /home1/louieslo/public_html/wp-content/themes/loops/content.php on line 35

So I thought it might be pretty neat to start posting something different then crocheting things up here every now and then, thus comes ANFSCD or “And Now for Something Completely Different” Episode 1!

So you may have seen these cool new art things people have been doing around the webs where they melt crayons on canvas to make it look like it’s raining. Well my girlfriend came up with a great idea where we could do the scene from My Neighbor Totoro (her favorite movie) where they’re standing at the bus stop. There’s one way to make these paintings in particular that I liked better then the “original” way which I found a tutorial here, but, I couldn’t get my hot glue gun working, so we just resulted to making it in a whole new, more fun, and more dangeous way! Wooo!!

This is our finished product.

So first I got the image of what we wanted painted on here, then I printed it out and started to cut out the parts we wanted to stencil out and paint on (with acrylic paints, not crayon)

Key note: cut the stencil out of painters tape and then paint it on! I had to do it twice because I’m dumb. Also, when your painting your design on, dab the paint on gently, or it will slide under the tape and make the edges less percise and more fuzzy.

After you have your design painted on, let it dry and then put tape over the design itself (I forgot to take photos, sorry :/). Also put little tabs up so the “rain” runs over the umbrella. This tutorial shows how to do this all wayyy better haha.

So, like I said earlier, I couldn’t get the glue gun working, so we did it the “old fashion” way. We just took a lighter and melted the crayons manually!

I have to say, I think it was a lot of fun doing it this way haha.

Finally peel off the tape reveling your finished product! Here’s ours!

I really like how it turned out, and I think it was an awesome first attempt! Look for lots more of these coming soon!!
